EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES

The Uvea Services at Disha Eye Hospital is a tertiary service that receives numerous referrals from local and regional ophthalmologists. It consists of a dedicated team who provide investigations, diagnosis and management of a wide variety of uveitic and other ocular inflammatory disorders.

DISHA service provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options including-

·         Fluorescein Angiography

·         Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

·         Ultrasonography B-scan

·         Microbiology investigations for urgent diagnosis in severe infective cases such as endophthalmitis.

·         Blood biochemistry

 

DISHA deals with a wide range of ocular inflammatory conditions – some of which result in significant ocular morbidity and are estimated to account for 5 to 15% of blindness. Common ocular inflammations seen at our service include:

·         Anterior uveitis including HLA-B27 related anterior uveitis

·         Fuch's heterochromic iridocyclitis

·         Tuberculous uveitis

·         Posner- Schlossman syndrome

·         Intermediate uveitis

·         Behcet's disease

·         Vogt- Koyanagi-Harada syndrome

·         Ocular infections such as acute and chronic endophthalmitis

·         Toxoplasmosis chorio- retinitis

·         Ocular malignancies

The various treatment options provided depend on the diagnosis. These options include-

·         Sub- tenon’s injections

·         Intra-vitreal injections

·         Depot steroid injections

·         Immunosuppressives

·         Anti- tubercular drugs

·         Vitrectomy
